Logos
Configure artwork variants, clearspace, sizes, and colorways.
Store approved artwork files in your project’s public/ directory, then
configure brand.logo. Supply separate files for light and dark surfaces so
the same guidelines work in either theme.
The following object replaces brand.logo in brandtree.config.ts.
logo: {
logotype: {
onLight: "/brand/logotype-dark.svg",
onDark: "/brand/logotype-light.svg",
aspect: 1200 / 260,
altText: "Acme",
},
brandmark: {
onLight: "/brand/mark-dark.svg",
onDark: "/brand/mark-light.svg",
aspect: 1,
altText: "Acme symbol",
},
favicon: "/favicon.svg",
pronunciation: "ACK • mee",
clearspace: { unit: "the height of the capital A", ratio: 0.25 },
minSize: { digital: "96 px wide", print: "20 mm wide" },
colorways: [
{ id: "primary", fg: "black", bg: "white", label: "Primary" },
{ id: "reversed", fg: "white", bg: "black", label: "Reversed" },
],
},
Both artwork objects require onLight, onDark, and numeric aspect
(width divided by height); altText is optional. clearspace, minSize, and
colorways are required. The clearspace ratio controls the diagram’s visual
padding; write the human explanation in unit. Digital and print minimum sizes
are descriptive strings.
Each colorway needs a unique id plus fg and bg palette references;
label is optional. Keep the preferred pairing first. favicon and
pronunciation are optional; the generated site otherwise references
/favicon.svg. Export the appropriate artwork variants rather than relying on
CSS to recolor an external SVG image. See Brand assets for file placement.
Present your logo guidelines
The config holds the artwork and specifications. To explain those rules visually on a guidelines page, choose a logo component for the example you need: an approved lockup, protected space, a size comparison, or incorrect usage.
